From kazar@nusun.jinr.ruWed May 24 11:59:23 2000 Date: Mon, 24 Apr 2000 21:49:43 +0400 (MSD) From: "Kazarinov N.Yu." To: Horst Oberlack Cc: Chris Oram , Victor Kukhtin Subject: Dubna status ------------ Dear Horst, I am sorry that I can not come for this meeeting. It would be nice if you warn me next time in advance.I could not send this mail earlier because I met with Nikolai to discuss our plans and schedule only today. As you know we have an unpredicted delay with the copper plates machining. Now our people from the work shop promise to finish two sets ( to be sent to MPI) at the end of June and finish 8 sets at the end of this year. Unfortunately we can not rely on them. Moreover they can not produce 75 plates/quarter.So we need to look for other producer. We have chosen the MZOR plant at Minsk. We hope to use the money from the Belorussian contri- bution to JINR to pay for the copper plates machining. We are going to con- tinue copper plates machining in Dunbna as well. All the stainless steel parts, lifting bars and shipping frames will be produced in Dubna. The shedule: we plan to finish 17 sets copper plates machining in Dubna on 31.03.02 and 16 sets copper plates machining in Minsk 30.04.02 We hope that this plan is rather conservative for Minsk at least. On 26 of April A.Lazarev and S.Kakurin will visit MZOR plant to discuss the details with plant technologists and prepare the agreement for the copper plates production. After that visit we shall have more reliable information. We will inform our conveners as soon as possible about results. For a moment we have 3 modules assembled: CF-18,SMF-1,SMF-2 Two of them CF-18 and SMF-1(former canadian Mod0) passed long term HV test and will be exported to CERN on 26.04.00 for the test beam run. We hope that we shall not have problems with custom. Our JINR regulations have been changed again. Comments on the modules assembly: 1.Quality of signal cables supplyed by MPI MUST be improved. We have informed about problems Horst Laskus,he agreed and promissed to discuss it with producer. It take one shift (8 hours for two people to collect a bandle) 2.We have no bolts, cables and boards to continue stacking (fortunately plates as well) I will send a full list of missing items in few days when modules will be sent to CERN. With best regards.Mikhail
