Lunch breaks
Lunch takes place at the MPP canteen around 13:00 o'clock each day.
Computing
All conference rooms will be equipped with WLAN and a beamer.
Visa
Please check if you need visa documents for your stay in Germany. In case you
do need these please contact us as soon as possible such that we can provide
you with an invitation letter.

By Plane:
From Munich Airport, it takes approximately 30 minutes by car or taxi to reach the
Institute. Typical cost of taxi: 60 €.
Alternatively, you can use Munich Public Transportation (MVV):
Option 1.)
From Munich Airport, take the S8 local railway (S-Bahn) to 'Johanneskirchen',
and continue with the MetroBus 50 heading 'Olympia-Einkaufszentrum/Dessauerstrasse', exit at 'Studentenstadt'.
MVV-Tickets: if you take a "Streifenkarte" (13,50 €) from the ticket machine, you have to stamp 8 strips.
A group of people may take a daily ticket "Gruppen-Tageskarte Gesamtnetz, for 1 day" (22,30 €) with which up to five persons are allowed to
travel.
Option 2.)
Take the S8 or S1 local railway (S-Bahn) to 'Marienplatz',
then take the Subway (U-Bahn) U6, northbound (heading 'Garching-Forschungszentrum' or 'Fröttmaning'), exit at
'Studentenstadt'.

Option 3.)
Alternatively, you can take the Lufthansa Airport Bus to 'Munich North', exit at 'Nordfriedhof'.
Then continue
with the Subway (U-Bahn) U6, northbound (heading 'Garching-Forschungszentrum' or 'Fröttmaning'),
exit at
'Studentenstadt'.
Tickets: The bus ticket (10,50 €) can be purchased on the bus.
Then for the U-Bahn, take the MVV single ticket "Einzefahrkarte, Kurzstrecke" (1,40 €)

By Train:
Travel to Munich Central Station, then take the local railway (S-Bahn) heading to
'Ostbahnhof', exit at 'Marienplatz'.
Change to the Subway (U-Bahn) U6 heading for
'Garching-Forschungszentrum' or 'Fröttmaning' and exit at
'Studentenstadt'.
MVV-Tickets: either a single ticket "Einzefahrkarte, 1 Zone" (2,70 €), or stamping 2 stripes on "Streifenkarte" (13,50 € for 10 stripes).

By Car:
Arriving in Munich on the A9 freeway from Nürnberg to Munich
(Nürnberg-München), take exit no. 75. Stay right, following the signs for
Frankfurter Ring (do not head for Föhringer Ring). After about 100 m, make a
U-turn, and go straight ahead at the crossroads. Continue for another 100 m, and then
take the first right.

By Foot:
Starting at the subway stop 'Studentenstadt', cross the street underground to
Ungererstasse. Above ground please turn sharp right so you face the opposite direction
to the stairs leading up. Now follow the street for about 300 m to a large crossroads. Alternatively,
if you got out at the bus stop, you can follow the street to the crossroads and cross
it there. Turn to the right of the street you came on into Föhringer Ring and follow
it for abot 200 m until you see the Institute's sign.
