Production of heavy quark jets in association with weak gauge bosons - Marco Vanadia, Johanna Bronner, Oliver Kortner, Sandra Kortner, and Hubert Kroha - Max-Planck-Institut fuer Physik, Foehringer Ring 6, 80805 Muenchen The study of final states in pp collisions at the LHC with a vector boson W or Z associated is important for the test of QCD predictions, but also for the estimate of the backgrounds for many SM and beyond SM processes, including Higgs and SUSY production. Muons produced inside jets can be used to obtain a statistical de- composition of the jets flavours using quantities like the transverse momentum with respect to the jet axis. This analysis profits from the design of the ATLAS detector which allows for very precise reconstruction of muon tracks. The decompo- sition technique is studied with Monte Carlo simulation and can be applied to the collision data collected by ATLAS in 2011.
